Duferco Group launches Duferco Renewable Industries, the new subholding company dedicated to renewable energy and the industrial development of the energy transition. Dr Francesco Del Pizzo appointed CEO.

The establishment of Duferco Renewable Industries marks a strategic milestone in the Group’s development, further strengthening its commitment to supporting the growth of Italy’s industrial capacity.

The new subholding company will be responsible for developing and managing the key technologies underpinning the transition, expanding Duferco’s presence across the entire value chain, from the development of and investment in renewable energy assets to industrial and manufacturing activities. The initiative will bring together the Group’s expertise, financial resources and industrial assets within a single entity, with the aim of accelerating growth and maximising synergies.

Francesco Del Pizzo has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the new company and will also join the Board of Directors of the Group’s holding company.

“We are confident that this initiative can create value for Duferco Group and contribute to the development of Italy’s industrial capabilities in a sector such as energy, which is crucial to business competitiveness,” commented Antonio Gozzi, Chairman of Duferco. “The energy transition requires capital, technical expertise and an industrial vision. Our ambition is to bring these elements together to develop and manage infrastructure and technologies that strengthen the country’s competitiveness and energy independence.”

Founded in 1979, Duferco Group is an international holding company originally established primarily to operate in the steel industry and which, over the years, has developed diversified businesses across several sectors. Following significant achievements in steel, Duferco broadened its scope by expanding into energy, shipping and innovation. Today, the Group operates in more than 20 countries worldwide. In Italy, it is represented by Duferco Travi & Profilati, a leading manufacturer of beams, special sections, quality steels and other long products, and by Duferco Energia, one of the leading operators in the Italian energy market. The results for the latest financial year, ended 30 September 2025, confirm the strength and resilience of Duferco’s diversified business model in a complex macroeconomic and geopolitical environment. Consolidated revenue reached USD 26.9 billion, an increase of 46% compared with USD 18.4 billion in the 2024 financial year, driven primarily by higher volumes traded and distributed by the Energy Division and significant growth in steel operations, against a backdrop of broadly stable prices and low volatility.
